Health Minister visits mental health services in Suffolk
Ms Churchill, who is also MP for Bury St Edmunds, toured Wedgwood House, which is on the site of West Suffolk Hospital. During her visit, NSFT staff showed her around Abbeygate, Northgate and Southgate wards before explaining more about the services the Trust provides.
Ms Churchill was also given the chance to meet service users and carers to hear more about their experiences of receiving care, as well as staff working at the unit.
She said: “I was pleased to once again visit Wedgwood House and meet with service users and staff members. It was great to see the important work being carried out by the Trust in delivering care, which is having a positive impact on service users and their carers.”
NSFT’s Chief Executive Jonathan Warren said: “We were delighted to welcome Jo Churchill to Wedgwood House to show her the facilities and explain more about the work we are doing to further improve the care we provide for local people.
“There are a range of important initiatives taking place across the Trust to boost the quality and safety of the services our patients receive. We were pleased to be given the opportunity to showcase some of these projects and to explain more about the positive impact they are having on our service users and their carers.”
