Appointment of independent chair will be 'very inclusive'
The chair of the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Sheila Childerhouse, has said the process of appointing a new Independent Chair to oversee the work of the Integrated Care System will be ‘very inclusive’.
The postholder will strengthen links across Suffolk and North East Essex to ensure health and care services are joined up and truly integrated.
The role will also require close working with district, borough and county councils, NHS and voluntary sectors as well as with the communities themselves to help local people live even healthier lives.
Sheila Childerhouse said: “This is a really exciting opportunity. Our recruitment process will be independently led, and will involve all of our key stakeholders from across the system to make sure it’s inclusive and that we have input from all sides.
“This role will be crucial to the progress of our already very successful system, and I will look forward to welcoming them on board.”
