Academics working with services to showcase integration
A series of case studies showing how integration is working across Suffolk and North East Essex is being produced by academics.
Paul Driscoll Evans from the University of Suffolk told the STP Board that the scheme has the support of partners and Healthwatch Suffolk.
Mr Driscoll-Evans said: “I have always been passionate about improving the patient experience and regard finding out about people’s experiences as a key means of helping the system to enhance the services it provides.
Our team of researchers will speak to stakeholders across the three alliances to gain an understanding of their perceptions, ideas and thoughts regarding the implementation towards integrated care in local neighbourhoods.”
Mr Driscoll Evans added: “This research will provide an overview of ‘what works’, based on a case study approach, informing future service integration. The case studies will also consider the impact integration has had on patients and communities. We would also be looking to publish our findings in national journals.”
A report is due to be presented to members in October.
